What are the uses of Relizen It is used as a muscle relaxant. What are the contraindications for the use of Relizen It is forbidden to use the drug without consulting a specialist doctor in the following cases: Hypersensitivity to any of the components of this drug. Do not take tizanidine if you are also taking the antidepressant fluvoxamine or ciprofloxacin. Liver diseases. Kidney disease. High or low blood pressure. A history of Long QT Syndrome. tizanidine for pregnancy Tizanidine is a pregnancy category C, meaning this medicine is harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if a pregnancy occurs or if you plan to become pregnant during treatment. tizanidine for lactation It is not known whether tizanidine passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby . What are the side effects of Relizan? Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects feeling dizzy Fainting. slow heart rate hallucinations confusion. Unusual thoughts or behavior. Nausea and stomach pain. Anorexia. dark urine Clay-coloured stools. Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes). Burning or pain when urinating. Common side effects drowsiness or dizziness; Feeling anxious or nervous. numbness or tingling stomach pain. diarrhea constipation vomiting Fever Dry mouth muscle weakness Back pain. Increased muscle tone or spasms. sweating or rash. What are the precautions for using Relizen? Use with caution under the supervision of a doctor in the following cases : Be careful if you do anything that requires you to be awake. Dizziness is more likely to occur when getting up from a sitting position. In some cases, it may threaten your physical integrity because it is in a state of decreased muscle tone. What are the drug interactions of Relizan? It is preferable to tell the doctor or pharmacist about all medications, herbs, vitamins, and nutritional supplements before starting treatment. It is recommended not to concomitantly with the following drugs: acyclovir _ cimetidine ; famotidine ticlopidine ; Contraceptive pills. Blood pressure medications such as clonidine, methyldopa. Heart pacemakers such as amiodarone, propafenone, and verapamil. tizanidine and antibiotics Tizanidine should not be taken concomitantly with antibiotics such as: gatifloxacin, levofloxacin , mefloxacin, moxifloxacin, ofloxacin or norfloxacin (Noroxin). What are the doses of Relizin and how is it used? Initial dose : 2 mg every 6-8 hours. Maintenance dose: 2-4 mg every 6-8 hours. Maximum dose: 16 mg daily. To stop : Decrease dose gradually by 2-4 mg daily. What are the dosage forms of Relizin? 2 mg tablet, 4 mg tablet What are the storage conditions for Relizen? Store tizanidine at room temperature away from moisture and heat, and out of the reach of children. How to use Relizen Take tizanidine exactly as your doctor has prescribed it. Do not use tizanidine at times when the body's muscles need it for certain activities. Do not take the medicine in larger doses, or for longer than recommended by your doctor. Tizanidine is a short-acting medicine, and its effects will be most noticeable between 1 and 6 hours after you take it. This medication should only be taken for daily activities that require rapid relief of muscle spasm symptoms, in most cases
