Product Description:

• A second-generation antihistamine that lowers the body's natural histamine production is cetirizine.

Uses:

• Cetirizine is used to treat cold or allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, or runny nose.
• Cetirizine is also used to treat an allergic reaction, itching and swelling caused by chronic urticaria (hives) and minimizes or eliminates the symptoms of perennial allergic rhinitis, seasonal allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, allergic asthma, physical urticaria, and atopic dermatitis.

Precautions and warnings:

• There are negative effects from cetirizine that might affect your reactions or way of thinking. When driving or doing anything else that needs you to be awake and aware, exercise caution. Steer clear of booze. It may intensify a few of cetirizine's adverse effects.
• If you use additional medications on a regular basis that induce sleep, let your doctor know (e.g., over-the-counter cold or allergy medications, narcotic painkillers, sleeping pills, muscle relaxants, and medications for anxiety, depression, or seizures). They may intensify the drowsiness brought on by cetirizine.
• If your symptoms worsen, do not get better, or if you also have a fever, give your doctor a call.
• If you have an allergy to cetirizine or have experienced a negative reaction to it, you should not take this medicine.
• Inform your doctor of all your medical problems, including any history of kidney or liver illness, before starting cetirizine.
• An unborn child is not anticipated to be harmed by cetirizine. If you are pregnant or want to get pregnant while receiving treatment, let your doctor know. Cetirizine may be harmful to a breastfeeding infant if it enters the breast milk. Refrain from using cetirizine if you are nursing a child without first notifying your doctor.
• For adults and children six months of age and older with chronic idiopathic urticaria, cetirizine is recommended.
• A lower-than-normal dosage may be necessary for older persons. Observe what your doctor has prescribed.

How to Use:

• Adhere to the manufacturer's instructions or your doctor's prescription when using cetirizine. Never use it for longer than is advised or in higher quantities.

   

• Cetirizine can be taken with or without meals.

   

• Chewing is required for the chewable tablet before swallowing.

   

• Oral doses: Use a dedicated dose-measuring cup or spoon rather than a standard table spoon to measure liquid medication (oral solution). Ask your pharmacist for a dose-measuring equipment if you don't already have one.

   

• If your symptoms worsen, do not get better, or if you also have a fever, give your doctor a call. Keep cetirizine out of the heat and moisture at room temperature.
