What are the uses of Roxardio? It is used in combination with nutritional therapy to treat the following: Prevention of the risk of cardiovascular disease in hypercholesterolemic patients with coronary heart disease or those at risk of coronary artery disease: Reduction of rates of heart disease (myocardial infarction and coronary/non-coronary revascularization procedures) and mortality ; and reduce the risk of stroke. Hyperlipidemia: To reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, triglycerides, very-low-density lipoprotein, and increased high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia. Familial hypercholesterolemia What are the contraindications for the use of Roxardio? active liver disease. An unexplained increase in liver function test results (transaminase transaminase elevated). Breastfeeding. pregnancy. Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug. What are the side effects of Roxardio? The most common side effects: headache; dull muscle pain; Arthritis; Back pain; mild nausea; stomach pain or indigestion; Constipation, or trouble sleeping (insomnia). What are the precautions for using Roxardio? You should continue to follow a cholesterol-lowering diet during treatment with this medicine. This medicine may in very rare cases have side effects on the muscles. That is why you should inform your doctor immediately if you experience any symptoms such as muscle pain, cramps, or weakness while taking this medicine. It is recommended to avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol while taking this medication. Cautions used in the following cases: Renal function decline. a history of liver disease; History of alcoholism, thyroid disease, history of side effects on the muscles during previous treatment with a statin or a fibrate. History of hereditary muscle disorders. Patients over 70 years old. Rosuvastatin at a dose of 40 mg/day is contraindicated in Asian patients. Pregnancy: It should not be given to a pregnant woman. It may harm the fetus. Lactation: It is excreted in breast milk. It should not be given to a breastfeeding woman. What are the drug interactions with Roxardio? If you are taking any of the following medicines tell your doctor or pharmacist, you may need a dose adjustment or certain tests: amiodarone, amlodipine, azole antifungals (such as itraconazole, ketoconazole, posaconazole, voriconazole), colchicine, cyclosporine, danazol, daptomycin, delavirdine, diltiazem, dronedarone, fibrates (eg, gemfibrozil, clofibrate, fenofibrate) fusidic acid, bukaprevir, telaprevir, ritonavir, emtinib, macrolide antibiotics (eg clarithromycin, erythromycin) mibefradil, nefazodone, niacin, ranolazine, risperidone, dalfopristin, quanpristin, telithromycin, or Verapamil because it may increase your risk of developing muscle or kidney problems.
