Betadine dry powder spray 55gm, 10% pvpi antiseptic solution for treating skin infections. For the prevention of infections in wounds, burns, cuts, scratches, and abrasions having germicidal properties. 

Therapeutic Indications of Betadine Spray:

  • Betadine Antiseptic Liquid Spray is used to rapidly eliminate the bacteria that cause wound and skin infections.
  • Antiseptic treatment for minor wounds, abrasions, and burns, as well as mild skin infections.

Do not use Betadine Spray:

  • This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to Povidone Iodine or any of its ingredients,
  • If you have a thyroid problem (e.g., nodular colloid goiter, endemic goiter, or Hashimoto's thyroiditis)
  • If  you are taking lithium therapy for depression, as this can interact with Povidone Iodine.

Method of Administration of Betadine Spray:

  • Always take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist.
  • If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
  • The recommended dose is 3-4 times day, applied topically in the afflicted region.
  • Doses may be adjusted in unusual circumstances, so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's directions.
  • If you take more than you should, consult a doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a duplicate dose to compensate for the missed dose. 

Undesirable Side Effects of Betadine Spray:

Symptoms of an allergic response include:

  • Rash.
  • Hives.
  • Itching, red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin.
  • Fever.
  • Wheezing.
  • Chest tightness.
  • Difficulty breathing, swallowing, or talking.
  • Unusual hoarseness.
  • Swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or neck.

Warnings & Special Precautions While Taking Betadine Spray:

  • Don't consume the liquid.
  • Use up to four times a day.
  • Betadine should not be used for more than 7 days without medical advice.
  • Call your doctor if your sore throat is severe or persists after two days, or if you have a high fever, headache, nausea, or vomiting.

Storage Conditions of Betadine Spray:

  • Store your medicine in a cool, dry location with a temperature below 25°C.
  • Do not keep Betadine Antiseptic Liquid Spray or any other medications in the bathroom or near a sink.

Other medicines and Betadine Spray:

  • Lithium (used to treat depression) can interact with Povidone Iodine, affecting thyroid function. Therefore, concurrent use should be avoided.

How to use Betadine Spray:

Treat minor wounds, scrapes, and burns with Betadine in three simple steps:

  1. Clean. Gently clean the damaged area.
  2. Treat. Spray a little amount of betadine onto the afflicted region.
  3. Protect. Allow to dry and wrap with a sterile bandage if necessary. The product can be applied one to three times each day, as needed.
