VIRALEZE™ Antiviral Nasal Spray is an aqueous-based, mucoadhesive formulation that targets the area in the nasal cavity where respiratory viruses that cause colds, flu, and other respiratory illness, first attach and start to multiply. VIRALEZE™ Antiviral Nasal Spray contains astodrimer sodium, which is antiviral and has been shown in laboratory studies to physically trap and block viruses, creating a physical barrier between respiratory viruses and mucosal cells in the nose, helping to reduce exposure to respiratory viral pathogens.
The trapped and blocked viruses are eliminated naturally through the nasal mucous.
Reducing infectious viral load may help prevent acquisition or transmission of infection.

Intended Purpose:

The intended purpose of 1% astodrimer sodium Nasal Spray is to provide a protective moisture barrier that physically traps and blocks cold/respiratory viruses, including rhinovirus, influenza virus, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), helping to reduce exposure to respiratory viruses. The device is intended for use by adults and children over the age of 12 years, in situations where individuals may be at risk of being exposed to respiratory viruses. One spray of VIRALEZE™ is applied into each nostril as required, up to 4 times per day.
