Therapeutic Indications Of Versatis Medicated Plaster Lidocaine is an anesthetic that is used for post-herpetic neuralgia is one of the most common complications of shingles (a viral infection due to herpes zoster virus also known as “chickenpox” that causes a painful rash anywhere on your body but most commonly on one side of your torso), it affects the skin and nerve fibers leading to burning pain that remains even after the blisters and rash caused by shingles have faded. It should be applied only on undamaged skin. Method Of Administration Of Versatis Medicated Plaster It is generally recommended to apply a maximum of 3 patches once daily for a maximum of 12 hours within a 24 hour period. • You may cut the patches with scissors into smaller parts before removing the release liner. • If you suffer from weakness or have liver problems, it is better to apply the medication on smaller areas of your skin • Treated skin area can be covered with clothing. • If you experience a burning sensation or irritation upon applying the patch, make sure to remove it and do not apply the medication again until the irritation fades away. • Wash your hands immediately after applying the patch to avoid absorption of the medication into this area. • Discard used patches immediately after their removal. Undesirable Side Effects Of Versatis Medicated Plaster Possible side effects of lidocaine include: allergic reactions, rash, change in skin color, redness of the skin, burning, swelling, bruising, papules, vesicles, itching, dermatitis, peeling, and petechiae (small red or purple or brown spots on the skin). Skin reactions are usually considered normal reactions that subside on their own within few minutes to hours. Warnings & Precautions Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, skin rash, swelling of the face or neck, decreased blood pressure and dizziness. • Lidocaine patch contains a significant amount of anesthetic that can cause serious harm if chewed or ingested by a pet or a kid. Make sure to keep the patches away from children and pets. • Do not apply more than 3 patches once a day and do not keep the patch on your skin for longer than 12 hours. • Avoid applying the patch on inflamed or broken skin to prevent excessive absorption of the anesthetic and toxicity. • Patients with liver impairment may be unable to metabolize the medication properly. Therefore, make sure to tell your doctor about any liver problems that you have before using this patch. • Keep the medication away from your eyes to avoid serious eye irritation. If eye contact happens, you should immediately wash your eyes with saline or water and then keep your eye protected until sensation goes back to normal again. How to store Versatis Medicated Plaster • Store at 15 to 30°C • Keep out of the reach of children and pets • Discard used patch immediately after removing it • Do not use beyond the expiry date mentioned on the box • Keep away from light and moisture • Do not dispose in the wastewater or household waste
