Tums Extra Strength 750 is used to

• Treat and prevent heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach, and upset stomach associated with overindulgence in food and drink.
• It is also used to relieve heartburn, sour stomach, or acid indigestion caused by pregnancy or heartburn that occurs at night.
• Tums Extra Strength 750 contains calcium carbonate, an antacid that works by neutralizing stomach acid.

Active ingredients 

750 milligrams (mg) of calcium carbonate , Tums Extra Strength 750 comes in a variety of flavors, including cherry, mint, orange, strawberry, and tropical fruit.

Directions

Adults and children 12 years of age and older:

• Chew 2 to 4 tablets as symptoms occur, or as directed by a doctor.
• Do not take more than 10 tablets in 24 hours.
• Do not take for more than 2 weeks unless directed by a doctor.

Warnings

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have:

• Kidney disease
• A history of kidney stones
• A history of heart disease
• High blood pressure
• Are taking other medications, including prescription and nonprescription drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements
• Do not use if you have a bowel obstruction or undiagnosed abdominal pain.
• Ask a doctor before use if you are pregnant, especially during the third trimester.
