Atorvastatin is one of the medicines from a group of medicines called statins , which works to reduce cholesterol production by inhibiting the action of the enzyme in the liver responsible for its production, which reduces the incidence of heart disease and arteries, and protects against strokes, or heart attacks and other diseases and disorders of blood vessels .
It is recommended to use atorvastatin with a balanced diet and not rely on treatment alone, with the aim of reducing bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, and raising good cholesterol (HDL).

This medicine is used in combination with the appropriate diet to treat the following:
Hyperlipidemia , reduction of elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, triglycerides, very-low-density lipoprotein, and increased HDL in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia.
Hereditary hypercholesterolemia .
Prevention of the risk of cardiovascular disease in hypercholesterolemic patients with coronary heart disease or at risk of coronary artery disease.
Reducing rates of heart diseases such as: myocardial infarction and mortality.
Reducing the risk of stroke.
Atorvastatin for weight loss
Weight loss may coincide with atorvastatin, but atorvastatin should not be used for weight loss, as it is a treatment for lowering cholesterol and medical advice should be obtained first.
What are the contraindications for using Tulip?
It is forbidden to use the drug without consulting a specialist doctor in the following cases:
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

This medicine may, in very rare cases, have side effects on the muscles , for this reason you should inform your doctor immediately if you experience any symptoms such as muscle pain, cramps, or weakness while taking this medicine.
Use with caution in the following cases:
Kidney function decline .
a history of liver disease;
History of alcoholism.
Thyroid diseases .
A history of muscle side effects during previous treatment with a statin or fibrate.
History of hereditary muscle disorders.
Patients over 70 years old.
Children : Safety and efficacy have not been established in children under 10 years of age or in prepubertal females.

It is preferable to tell the doctor or pharmacist about all medications, herbs, vitamins, and nutritional supplements before starting treatment.
It is recommended not to concomitantly with the following drugs:
amiodarone, amlodipine.
Azole antifungals , such as itraconazole, ketoconazole, posaconazole , voriconazole.
Colchicine, cyclosporine, danazol, daptomycin, delavirdine, diltiazem, dronedarone.
fibrates, eg gemfibrozil, clofibrate, fenofibrate.
Fusidic acid, bocaprevir, telaprevir, ritonavir, and imtinib.
Macrolide antibiotics, such as clarithromycin, erythromycin.
Mibifradil, nefazodone, niacin , ranolazine, risperidone, dalfopristin, quanpristin, telithromycin.
Verapamil because it may increase your risk of developing muscle or kidney problems.
Carbamazepine, efavirenz, rifampin.
St. John's wort.
Anticoagulants, such as warfarin .
Digoxin , tacrolimus.
What are Tulip doses and methods of use?
The starting dose is often 10 mg to 20 mg daily.
The maximum dose is 80 mg daily.
