Uses of Trivacin
- Adult patients with dementia, a degenerative brain illness that progressively impairs memory and mental capacity, and mild to moderately severe Alzheimer's disease are treated with Trivacin.
Where to apply your Trivacin transdermal patch
- Make sure your skin is free of any powder, oil, moisturizer, or lotion that could prevent the patch from sticking to your skin correctly, as well as any cuts, rashes, or irritations, before applying a patch.
- Before applying a fresh patch, carefully remove any old ones.
- Multiple patches applied to your body could expose you to high doses of this medication, which could be harmful.
- Use ONE patch per day on JUST ONE of the potential sites indicated in the illustrations below:
Upper arms on the left or right - upper chest on the left or right (avoid breast) -upper back on the left or right or lower back on the left or right.
How to use patches
- Always use Trivacin transdermal patches exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your
doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are not sure. - Consult your doctor rather than adjusting the dosage on your own if you think the medication is having an excessively strong or too little of an effect.
The severity of your condition will determine how much of this medication you need to take. Pay close attention to your doctor's recommendations. - Don't abruptly stop taking this medication.
- It is important to always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's recommendations, As doses may need to be adjusted in certain situations.
Speak with your physician or visit the hospital right away if you take more medication than is recommended. - If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose.
- To make up for a missing dose, avoid taking two doses at once, or a double dose.
Possible side effects
- Overeating
- feeling woozy, restless, or lightheaded
- Inability to hold enough urine results in urinary incontinence
- Heart-related issues
- Excessive activity and hallucinations
- Ulcers
- Dehydration, or excessive fluid loss
- Being enraged and hostile
Children and adolescents
- There is no relevant use of Trivacin for pediatrics in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- If you are pregnant, the benefits of using Trivacin must be assessed against the possible effects on your unborn child.
- Trivacin should not be used during pregnancy unless clearly necessary.
- You should not breast-feed during treatment with Trivacin transdermal patches.
