Product Name Tarivid 200 Mg, Antibiotic, Reduce Bacterial Infections - 10 Tablets Scientific Name Ofloxacin 200 Mg Tablets Category Of Tarivid 200 Mg Tablets Antibacterial Drugs Mechanism Of Action Of Ofloxacin Ofloxacin is a bactericidal antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone drug class. It inhibits DNA replication by inhibiting bacterial DNA topoisomerase and DNA-gyrase which are necessary to separate bacterial DNA, thereby inhibiting cell division. Therapeutic Indications Of Tarivid 200 Mg Tablets Ofloxacin tablets are used for infections of the: Urinary tract (bladder and kidney infection) Chest or lungs Genital tract infections in men and women (e.g. gonorrhea, a sexually transmitted disease) Skin and soft tissue. Soft tissue is underneath the skin and includes muscle It could also be used to prevent infections in certain groups of patients Method Of Administration Of Tarivid 200 Mg Tablets Always take Ofloxacin tablets exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Take this medicine by mouth Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water When taking Ofloxacin tablets, avoid strong sunlight and do not use sun lamps or solarium Medicines containing iron (for anemia) antacids (for indigestion or heartburn) or sucralfate (for stomach ulcers) should be avoided for two hours before or after taking Ofloxacin Tablets Your doctor will explain to you exactly how much Ofloxacin you will have to take as well as how often and for how long. This will depend on the type of infection you have Kidney or liver problems. Doses up to 400 mg are taken as a single dose in the morning This medicine should not be given to children or adolescents. Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose. Undesirable Side Effects Of Tarivid 200 Mg Tablets Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from: Convulsions Severe pain in the abdomen and back (signs of the inflamed pancreas) inflammation of the bowels, called colitis (or antibiotic-associated colitis), causing severe long-lasting watery diarrhea with stomach cramps and fever. Allergic reaction – the signs may include swelling of your face, lips, tongue, and throat (This may make it difficult to breathe or swallow), A serious skin reaction that causes blisters and bleeding called ‘Stevens-Johnson’s syndrome’ Yellowing of the skin and eyes, unusual tiredness or fever, dark-colored urine (signs of inflamed liver and liver damage) Kidney disorder Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Precautions While Taking Tarivid 200 Mg Tablets If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. You have low levels of potassium or magnesium in your blood You have or have ever had any mental health problems You have diabetes If you have a condition called myasthenia gravis, which causes muscle weakness and excessive muscle fatigue. You have nerve problems (peripheral neuropathy) You have been diagnosed with an enlargement of a large blood vessel Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements Storage Conditions Of Tarivid 200 Mg Tablets Store below 25°c Don’t refrigerate Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store in the original package to protect from moisture. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
