Do not take Hydrocortisone: If you’re allergic to the active substance or any other component of this medicine. If you have an untreated fungal infection such as thrush. If you have any other untreated infections. If you recently had or are about to have a vaccination. Warnings and precautions: Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine including: If you have a traumatic brain injury or stroke. If you have heart problems or had a recent heart attack. If you have a high blood pressure (hypertension). If you have any type of infection including viral infections, tuberculosis and HIV. If you have a severe depression or manic depression. If you have diabetes. If you have Cushing’s disease. If you have seizures (fits). If you have eye conditions such as glaucoma or cataract. Your doctor or nurse will inject you. Take the tablets with food. The dose and route of administration will depend on your case. For the injection, the dosing range is usually between 100 – 500 mg. For the tablets, the usual dosing is 10 –40 mg per day but can be higher in emergencies. How to store Hydrocortisone: Store at room temperature below 77°F (25°C). Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
