Montelukast 4 Mg Chewable Tablets Prevents Asthma Complications
Therapeutic Indications Of Singulair Paediatric 4 Mg Chewable Tablets Your doctor has prescribed Montelukast to treat asthma, preventing your asthma symptoms during the day and night. Montelukast is used for the treatment of adults and adolescents 15 years of age and older who are not adequately controlled on their medication and need additional therapy. Montelukast also helps prevent the narrowing of airways triggered by exercise. In those asthmatic patients in whom Montelukast is indicated in asthma, Montelukast can also provide symptomatic relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis. Method Of Administration Of Singulair Paediatric 4 Mg Chewable Tablets Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Doses will depends on your medical condition This medicine is to be given to a child under adult supervision. chewable tablets should not be taken immediately with food; it should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food For children who have problems consuming a chewable tablet, an oral granule formulation is available. For children 2 to 5 years of age: 4 mg chewable tablet (or 4 mg granules) daily to be taken in the evening For children 6 to 14 years old: 5 mg chewable tablets are available. 4 mg chewable tablet is not recommended below 2 years of age. Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose. Undesirable Side Effects Of Singulair Paediatric 4 Mg Chewable Tablets Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from: Abdominal pain Headache Allergic reactions Behavior and mood-related changes: agitation including aggressive behavior or depression Palpitations Warnings & Special Precautions While Taking Singulair Paediatric 4 Mg Chewable Tablets Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Montelukast If your asthma or breathing gets worse, tell your doctor immediately. Oral Montelukast is not meant to treat acute asthma attacks. If an attack occurs, follow the instructions your doctor has given you. Always have your inhaled rescue medicine for asthma attacks with you. It is important that you or your child take all asthma medications prescribed by your doctor. Montelukast should not be substituted for other asthma medications your doctor has prescribed for you. Any patient on anti-asthma medicines should be aware that if you develop a combination of symptoms such as a flu-like illness, pins and needles or numbness of arms or legs, worsening of pulmonary symptoms, and/or rash, you should consult your doctor. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements. Storage Conditions Of Singulair Paediatric 4 Mg Chewable Tablets Store below 25°c Don’t refrigerate Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store in the original package to protect from moisture. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
