Therapeutic Indications Of Roxil Suspension
It is indicated for the treatment of the following infections due to susceptible microorganisms when oral therapy is indicated:
Streptococcal pharyngitis and tonsillitis
Bronchopneumonia, bacterial pneumonia
Uncomplicated urinary tract infections: pyelonephritis, cystitis
Skin and soft tissue infections: abscesses, furunculosis, impetigo, erysipelas, pyoderma, lymphadenitis
Method Of Administration Of Roxil Suspension
Adults and children weighing more than 40kg:
The recommended dose for adults and children weighing more than 40 kg is 500 mg to 1g twice a day.
Children weighing less than 40 kg:
The oral suspension may be given to children weighing less than 40 kg. The amount of suspension and the number of times a day you should give the suspension to your child will depend on your child’s weight and the type of infection that is being treated.
Your doctor will tell you exactly how to give the suspension.
The usual recommended daily dosage for children < 40 kg is 30-50 mg/kg/day divided into two daily doses
Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

Warnings & Special Precautions While Taking Roxil Suspension
The dosage must be adjusted according to the grade of renal impairment
The occurrence of diarrhea may impair the resorption of other medications and therefore lead to an impairment of their efficacy.
Super-infections with fungi (e.g. candida) can occur on prolonged treatment with cefadroxil.
The result of the Coombs' test can be transiently positive during or after treatment with cefadroxil
Urinary sugar should be determined enzymatically (e.g. with test strips) during treatment with cefadroxil since reduction tests can furnish falsely elevated values.
Cefadroxil contains sodium
Frequent checks on coagulation parameters are necessary during concomitant long term use of anticoagulants or thrombocyte aggregation inhibitors to avoid hemorrhagic complications
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements.

Store below 25°c
