1. What this product is and what it is used for RIANEST ointment/cream contains nystatin which is a member of the group of medicines called anti-fungal, it is indicated for the treatment of cutaneous and mucocutaneous mycosis (yeasts and fungi), particularly those caused by candida albicans. 2. What you need to know before you use this product Do not use RIANEST ointment/cream If you are allergic to nystatin (active substance) or to any of the ingredients of RIANEST ointment/cream, (For a list of ingredients see section 6). Precautions Use this medications as directed(including the replacement of missed doses).This medication is not for any disorder other than that for which is prescribed. If symptomatic relief occurs within the first few days of treatment, the patient should be advised not to interrupt or discontinue therapy until the prescribed course of treatment is completed. If symptoms of irritation develop, the patient should be advised to notify the physician promptly . Other medicines and RIANEST ointment/cream RIANEST ointment/cream does not usually interact with other medicines, but always tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used other medicines including those obtained without medical prescription. Using RIANEST ointment/cream with food and drink Not applicable. Pregnancy and breast-feeding RIANEST ointment/cream is not known to cause problems in pregnancy or breast feeding, but Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. Driving and using machines RIANEST ointment/cream is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or use machines. 3. How to use this product. For external use only Always use RIANEST ointment/cream exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Apply to the affected area twice daily or as indicated until healing is complete. If you use more RIANEST ointment/cream than you should or a child swallows some Over dosage should not cause any problems. If swallowed RIANEST ointment/cream will not enter the bloodstream but may cause a stomach upset and you should take the child to your doctor or to the hospital casualty department, taking the medicine with you. If you forget to use RIANEST ointment/cream If you forget to use your RIANEST ointment/cream, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is nearly time for your next application skip the missed dose and continue as before. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist. 4. Possible side effects Like all medicines, RIANEST ointment/cream can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Burning , itching , rash , eczema , and pain on application. Nystatin does not irritate mucous membranes, although a few cases of local allergic reactions have been reported. Most people find this medicine causes no problems. However, if you feel you are reacting to this medicine tell your doctor. If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in the leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist. 5. How to store this product Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Store below 30 °C. Keep in the original package to protect from heat. To be used within 28 days after first opening. Do not use RIANEST ointment/cream after the expiry date printed on the pack. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not throw any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
