Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment is used in both adults and children for the treatment of a wide range of eye infections caused by bacteria.

Method Of Administration Of Riachol 1% Eye Ointment
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Eye preparation is usually sterile, so ensure that the container is not damaged before use and also replace the cap after taking your dose.
Wash your hands well before use
Remove the outer cap. You may find it easier to apply your ointment in front of a mirror.
Tilt the head back and pull the lower lid of the eye out to form a pocket
Hold the tube between the thumb and middle finger of the other hand, turn the tube upside
down near to the eye, try not to touch the eye with the nozzle
Place about half an inch of the ointment into the pocket formed between the lid and the eye
Blink the eye a few times
Repeat in the other eye if you have been told to use the Eye Ointment in both eyes
Replace the outer cap on the tube, trying not to touch the applicator tip with anything, including the eye or the fingers
Wash your hands after use
Doses may change from patient to patient based on your age, your medical condition and whether or not you are taking other medicines, so always follow your physician instruction
Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
If you experience changes in your vision or eye pain
If you experience eye irritation or redness that is getting worse or that persists for more than 72 hours.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements.
Storage Conditions Of Riachol 1% Eye Ointment
Store below 25°c
Don’t refrigerate the unopened container
Not to be used for more than 28 days after opening the container, unless otherwise is advised by your pharmacist.
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
