Bemiparin sodium What Bemiparin sodium is used for : Bemiparin sodium is indicated in: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) Prophylaxis of postoperative VTE including during pregnancy with a history of deep-vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism Prevention of mural thrombosis Acute peripheral arterial embolism, unstable angina Warnings and precautions : Seek medical help if you have an allergy Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash, hives, itching, shortness of breath, wheezing; cough, swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, or any other signs. Discontinue treatment if thrombocytopenia occurs. Medical help is needed in case of hypersensitivity and in elderly. Possible side effects : Bleeding due to overdose. Transient and reversible alopecia. Osteoporosis. Hypersensitivity reactions include urticaria, conjunctivitis, rhinitis, asthma, angioedema and anaphylactic shock, priapism. Bleeding, rash, aching bones, thrombocytopenia, alopecia, anaphylaxis, rigor, slight haematuria. Other medicines with Bemiparin sodium Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. Taking them together can cause bad side effects. Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take. How to take Bemiparin sodium : If you miss a dose Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. How to store Bemiparin sodium : Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
