Therapeutic Indications Of GLEMAX 2 Mg Tablets Glimepiride is used to lower blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 (non-insulin-dependent). It is used when diet and exercising have failed to control your diabetes. Method Of Administration Of GLEMAX 2 Mg Tablets This medicine is intended for adults only. Take as indicated by your doctor. Take with food, with the first meal of the day. Take the tablet whole. Do not break, crush or chew. It is important to follow the diet and exercise plan set by your doctor. The usual starting dose is one 1 mg tablet once a day with breakfast. Your doctor might increase it gradually to a maximum of 8 mg daily. Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose. Undesirable Side Effects Of GLEMAX 2 Mg Tablets Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from: Allergic reactions Low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia) Liver problems Nausea Diarrhea Stomach upset Decrease in the number of cells in the blood (platelets, red and white blood cells) Change in eyesight Warnings & Special Precautions While Taking GLEMAX 2 Mg Tablets Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine including: If you are recovering from an injury, operation, infections with fever, or from other forms of stress. If you have liver or kidney problems. If you have a deficiency in an enzyme called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD). Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements. Storage Conditions Of GLEMAX 2 Mg Tablets Store below 25°c Don’t refrigerate Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store in the original package to protect from moisture. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
