Once the adapter becomes in place, you cannot remove it anymore. Then check the dose that your healthcare provider prescribed you in milliliters (mL) and locate the number on the oral syringe. Afterwards, make sure to push the syringe’s plunger all the way down and then, insert the syringe into the bottle keeping it upright and the syringe inserted through the opening in the adapter. In order to accurately measure your dose, turn the bottle upside down while keeping the syringe in place and then pull the plunger until you reach the prescribed dose. If you notice air bubbles in the withdrawn dose, press on the plunger all the way down to release the dose again into the bottle and then pull the plunger to withdraw the prescribed dose again. Make sure to look at the white layer at the end of the plunger to verify the dose in mL and not the black layer. In case your prescribed dose is greater than 20 mL, you can measure the dose with 2 syringes or 1 syringe making two steps to withdraw the prescribed dose with the same syringe. Then, turn the bottle right-side up and remove the syringe from the adapter. Make sure to slowly release the medicine into the corner of your mouth until you receive the entire liquid dose. In case you used two syringes to measure your dose, slowly squirt the dose from the first syringe into the corner of your mouth and then slowly squirt the dose of the second syringe into the corner of your mouth again. Finally, in order to keep your syringe clean, fill a cup with tap water after every use, then insert the syringe into the cup and pull the plunger to withdraw the water into the syringe, then push on the plunger all the way down to release the water out of the syringe and into the sink. Make sure to follow the syringe cleaning steps after every use.
