What Flamazine cream is used for:

  • In patients with severe burns, this drug is used in conjunction with other therapies to help prevent and cure wound infections.

 

Do not use Flamazine cream :

  • If you are allergic to any of the components or any medications in the Sulfonamide group, avoid using silver sulfadiazine.
  • Silver sulfadiazine should not be given to preterm babies or newborns during their first few months of life.
  • By interfering with normal metabolism, sulfonamides can induce a potentially fatal illness in newborns during their first few months of life called "kernicterus" (jaundice of the brain).
  • If the jar or tube has been opened or exhibits indications of tampering prior to your initial application, do not use.

 

Warnings and precautions of flamazine cream :

  • Inform your physician if you are allergic to any other medications or chemicals, including foods, colors, preservatives, or other substances.
  • It should not be used in the final month of pregnancy if you are pregnant or want to get pregnant. Your
  • physician will go over the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing while expecting.
  • You plan to breastfeed or are already breastfeeding.
  • Because sulfonamides are seldom eliminated in breast milk, nursing moms should take them with care.
  • Your physician will go over the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing while nursing.
  • Applying to the breasts before nursing is not advised.
  • You are aware that you are lacking in glucose-6-phosphate. You currently have or have previously had any
  • additional illnesses, such as:
  • low level of white blood cells
  • Having issues with your liver

 

side effects of Flamazine creram:

  • If you have any side effects such as tightness in your throat, swelling in your eyes, lips, or tongue, dizziness, or trouble breathing, stop taking the product right once and visit a doctor.
  • If you have facial or body itching or break out in hives, stop using the product.
  • Drug interaction and Flamazine cream:

How to use Flamazine cream:

  • Always follow the advice of your doctor or pharmacist as doses may need to be adjusted in certain situations.
  • See a doctor or visit the hospital right away if you take more than is recommended.
  • Unless it is almost time for your next dosage, take the missed dose as soon as you recall it.
  • To make up for a missed dosage, avoid taking two doses at once, or a double dose.

Mechanism Of Action Of Silver Sulfadiazine Cream:

  • In order for silver sulfadiazine to function, microorganisms that may infect an open wound must not proliferate. This lessens the possibility that the bacteria may infect nearby skin or blood, where it could result in a dangerous blood infection (sepsis).
  • Silver sulfadiazine is a member of the sulfa antibiotic medication class.

  • The potential advantages and disadvantages of taking this medication while pregnant or nursing will be discussed with your doctor.

  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date. which is stated on the box.
