Product Name Ciprodar 500 Mg, Antibiotic, Reduce Bacterial Infections - 10 Tablets Scientific Name Ciprofloxacin 500 Mg Tablets Category Of Ciprodar 500 Mg Tablets Antibacterial Drugs Mechanism Of Action Of Ciprofloxacin Ciprofloxacin is a bactericidal antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone drug class. It inhibits DNA replication by inhibiting bacterial DNA topoisomerase and DNA-gyrase which are necessary to separate bacterial DNA, thereby inhibiting cell division. Therapeutic Indications Of Ciprodar 500 Mg Tablets It can be used in the following infections: Skin infections Bone and joint infections Gastrointestinal infections Intra-abdominal infections Urinary infections Respiratory tract infections Sinusitis Genial tract infections (Gonorrhea) Typhoid fever Inhalation anthrax exposure Method Of Administration Of Ciprodar 500 Mg Tablets Take exactly as indicated by your doctor. Take this drug at the same time of day. Take with or without food. Take with a full glass of water. Swallow the tablet whole. Do not split, crush or chew. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine. Do not take this medicine with dairy products, like milk or yogurt, or calcium-rich juices The dosing may differ depending on the site and severity of your infection. For adults, the usual dosing range is 250 – 750 mg every 12 hours. For children, the dosing is usually done according to the child’s body weight in mg/kg/dose. It is usually between 10-20 mg/kg/dose every 12 hours. Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose. Undesirable Side Effects Of Ciprodar 500 Mg Tablets Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from: Muscle and joint problems Nausea Diarrhea Vomiting Rash Changes in liver function tests Tendon rupture or swelling Peripheral neuropathy (changes in sensation, risk of permanent damage) Central nervous system problems (dizziness, seizures…) Liver toxicity Irregular heart rhythm known as “QT prolongation” Worsening of Myasthenia Gravis Muscle and joint problems in children Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Precautions While Taking Ciprodar 500 Mg Tablets If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. If you have kidney problems. If you have liver problems. If you have rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or another history of joint problems. If you have the disease Myasthenia Gravis. If you have diabetes. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, or breast-feeding This medicine may severely affect your tendons, joints, and nervous system. The risk of getting tendon problems is higher if you are over 60 years of age, are taking corticosteroids, or have had a kidney, heart, or lung transplant. The risk of having joint problems is higher in children under the age of 18 years. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements.
