Product Name Bronchofast 10 Mg, Asthma Drug, Prevents Asthma Complications - 28 Tablets Scientific Name Montelukast 10 Mg Tablets Category Of Bronchofast 10 Mg Tablets Asthma Drugs Mechanism Of Action Of Montelukast Montelukast is in the leukotriene receptor antagonist family of medications. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene D4 in the lungs resulting in decreased inflammation and relaxation of smooth muscle. Therapeutic Indications Of Bronchofast 10 Mg Tablets Your doctor has prescribed Montelukast to treat asthma, preventing your asthma symptoms during the day and night. Montelukast is used for the treatment of adults and adolescents 15 years of age and older who are not adequately controlled on their medication and need additional therapy. Montelukast also helps prevent the narrowing of airways triggered by exercise. In those asthmatic patients in whom Montelukast is indicated in asthma, Montelukast can also provide symptomatic relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis. Method Of Administration Of Bronchofast 10 Mg Tablets Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Doses will depend on your medical condition For adults and adolescents 15 years of age and older: The recommended dose is one 10 mg tablet to be taken daily in the evening. You can take Montelukast 10 mg with or without food Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose. Undesirable Side Effects Of Bronchofast 10 Mg Tablets Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from: Abdominal pain Headache Allergic reactions Behavior and mood-related changes: agitation including aggressive behavior or depression Palpitations Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Precautions While Taking Bronchofast 10 Mg Tablets If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Any patient on anti-asthma medicines should be aware that if you develop a combination of symptoms such as a flu-like illness, pins and needles or numbness of arms or legs, worsening of pulmonary symptoms, and/or rash, you should consult your doctor. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
